Magicians Club in Singapore

Over 50 Magical entertainers in Singapore came to the Bayview Hotel to enjoy an evening of performance and magic instruction by me, Comic Magician Norm Barnhart.

I have lectured for many magician’s organizations and conventions across the U.S. and Canada, but this is the furthest from home I’ve traveled to present a workshop.  The wonderful people of Singapore made me feel welcome and right at home. Their sparkling city is a tribute to the hard work and skill of this very talented people.

My first day in town was a very pleasant one as Kenneth from the Magician’s club met me and took me all over this beautiful city. Magic is a cool brotherhood where you have an instant connection with someone wherever you are. Kenneth’s tour took us to an old British fort that was a major battle in WWII as well as to see many other sites and historic places on the island of Sentosa.

I enjoyed a beautiful tour of the city by boat with Ken and learned a lot of history along the way.  Another great attraction was the Museum of Asian Art featuring many types of art from around the continent.

I enjoyed performing as Normondo for the Mayor and other dignitaries at several shows in the Classic Raffles Theater. The show included acts from across the U.S., Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.  We also visited a school and presented entertainment at a huge festival.  It was very fun and educaitonal.

Just Back from Canada

Comic Magician - Magic Norm

Comedy magic shows have taken me all over this summer and now I am back from entertaining at a festival in Canada.  The people are very kind and I even tried a few local favorite foods that I had never heard of.

The comedy and magic shows were very well received  by the families. It is fun to bring smiles to special events.

I had a great time listening to the music at this festival. There were fireworks one night and they were celebrating 70 years of  the Norseman Aircraft. This plane is used now mainly to take tourists up to out of the way lakes and enjoy the excellent fishing in Northern Canada.

I love to be a Magician in Minnesota and bring entertainment to festivals family events and even birthday parties. Please look at MagicNorm.com to learn more.

A Wonderful Trip to Singapore

Singapore is a city full of very friendly people. I have enjoyed 9 days here  so far.

There have been several stage shows that I have been apart of at a classic theater that was originally build in the 1800’s. One show was a special event for the Mayor of Singapore.  He is a kind and delightful gentleman who keeps this city moving forward.

Other shows included for a boys home and a huge festival at a park on the shore. The sky was filled with kites that were flown from the top of this modern designed 4 story structure. I will post pictures later this week.

I also enjoyed  presenting a lecture for the magicians cling #115 in Singapore. Over 50 people showed up for the 2 hour seminar that included me doing two short shows and then two segments where I taught some of my magical inventions.

Norm Teaching at Magician's Club

Many of the magicians have taken me out to dinner and lunch and site seeing.

I am also speaking and teaching at a convention of comedy entertainers. This has been a very fun group to present for and I have enjoyed walking all over town in the evenings with my new friends from Malaysia.

Enjoy your day and bring a smile to someone you meet.

Magic Secret to Happiness

“The happiest people are those who invested their time in others. The unhappiest people are those who wonder how the world is going to make them happy.”   – John Maxwell

Yes, when we look for help, serve and bring joy to others, we find our deepest joy.

I have been so fortunate to see so many smiling faces over the years. The laughter of a child enjoying the magic at a birthday party or the smile of a seasoned citizen at a nursing care center is a wonderful thing. I have enjoyed bringing fun to weddings, festivals, schools and veterans groups.

This crazy business has brought me to law offices and corporate events to talk on humor in the workplace and spread some laughter.  I feel very fortunate indeed.
